iLAB was established in 1999 and soon became a respected leader in our areas of expertise. We pride ourselves in engaging in long term partnerships with our customers, many of which exceed 5 years. To date we have not lost a single strategic account to a competitor.

Our current customer base includes key players from the Top 100 listed companies on the Johannesburg Security Exchange (JSE).

1999

Company was established, focussing on software testing and project management

2003

Revitalised as the new iLAB, launching our proprietary software test methodology

2004

Successfully completed a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) transformation in South Africa

2005

Opened an office in the United Kingdom

2006

Launched the second edition of our proprietary software test methodology

2007

International footprint established in Australia

Implemented a test laboratory with leading-edge technology

Software Failure
Railroad Y2K
In January of 2001 newspapers reported that a major European railroad was hit by the after-effects of the Y2K bug. The company found that many of their newer trains would not run due to their inability to recognize the date 31/12/2000. The trains were started by altering the control system's date settings.
Stock trading
The computer system of a major online U.S. stock trading service failed during trading hours several times over a period of days in February of 1999 according to nationwide news reports. The problem was reportedly due to bugs in a software upgrade intended to speed online trade confirmations
